BROWSER MODE

To work with the SpeechMike Premium Touch or the SpeechMike Premium Air in the SpeechLive web recorder it has to be set to Browser mode and it has to be your default recording device in your operating system.

Note

A description on how to define the SpeechMike as your default recording device can be found in the chapter Problems with sound recording.

On the SpeechMike Premium Air SMP4000 series the Browser mode can be enabled  without any further preconditions.

  • However to follow the description below we recommend to upgrade the SpeechMike Premium Air to firmware version 4.50 or later.

  • The currently loaded firmware version can be viewed in the device information of the SpeechControl software (see Firmware upgrade section).

The SpeechMike Premium Touch SMP3700/3800 series only supports the Browser mode from firmware 3.50 onwards.

  • The currently loaded firmware version can be viewed in the device information of the SpeechControl software (see Firmware upgrade section).

The SpeechMike Premium LFH3500/3600 series devices do not support the Browser mode, but they can be programmed to control the SpeechLive web recorder via hotkeys.

A detailed list of supported SpeechMike devices can be found in the chapter Supported SpeechMikes.
