Philips SpeechLive - Add SpeechLive's dictation view as a desktop app/icon

The cloud-based Philips SpeechLive system couldn't be easier to use, but that doesn't mean there aren't ways to streamline how you work in it further.

As a typist (and occasionally if you're an author), you will log in to SpeechLive using your preferred browser (Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are best due to supporting features), requiring: opening chrome, typing in a URL or going to a shortcut/bookmark, and logging in. But what if there's an even quicker way to get to your dictation queue?

Using either Chrome or Microsoft Edge, you can install Philips SpeechLive as a desktop icon and app, so it opens up straight away to log you in and get started.

Install SpeechLive as a desktop icon from Google Chrome
  1. Log in to SpeechLive on Google Chrome
  2. In the top right hand corner, click the three vertical dots
  3. Hover over 'Save & Share' (about three quarters of the way down the list)
  4. Click 'Install page as app' (second option)
  5. Click 'Install'
Install SpeechLive as a desktop icon from Microsoft Edge
  1. Log in to SpeechLive in Chrome as above
  2. In the top right hand corner, click the three horizontal dots
  3. Hover over 'Apps' (about halfway down the list)
  4. Click 'Install this page as app' (first option)
  5. Click 'Install'
Both instructions will install an icon on your desktop that looks like this
